Nobody was supposed to die. Not here, not now...
Bainesville West High, located just northeast of Columbus, Ohio, has about 2500 students, a proud tradition of academic excellence, fine arts, and state-ranked sports teams. It's really just your typical Midwestern high school—aside from the fact a top-rated reality TV show, Real American High, is shooting their current season in its halls.
Millions of viewers tune in every week to watch four of Bainesville's brightest and best forge their way through the travails and triumphs of modern teen life. Whether it's struggling to have their voices heard, falling in love, or dealing with the expectations of popularity and fame, these four students, along with friends and teachers, show the rest of America just what it's like to live in their reality.
But when an outsider classmate takes his own life the weekend before homecoming, chaos threathens to erupt—especially when his death will not stay hidden, on or off camera. Will these dark truths threaten the popular show?
And will America be able to handle them when they are finally revealed?
